On There There, Yume shows off his intelligent use of dynamics and his ear for ambiance. Fading in with a beautifully dense synth, he builds a strong sense of atmosphere before dropping an incredible Imogen Heap vocal sample (Speeding Cars to be specific) as high movement synths play under it.
Percussion is introduced as the track builds to something that ultimately feels huge which is even more surprising considering this is YUME’s debut EP. YUME’s talent is really highlighted in this track when he uses these quick fade outs and fade ins to create a climax that also offers as a contrast between the difference in where the track is and where the track started.?
He’s showing off a great understanding of ambiance and atmosphere while keeping this track high energy and he’s doing an impressive job of doing so. - heart and soul blog
